Kseniya Simonova is a sand animator from Ukraine. She first started making these type of drawings on the beach and eventually progressed to this amazing animation. Simonova, winner of the Ukraine Has Talent Show, captured a universal chord in a country where emotions run deep with generational wounds from WWII.
In this video she uses a giant light box, dramatic music, imagination and "sand painting" skills to interpret Germany's invasion and occupation of Ukraine druing WWII.
